Hi there. I'm Brea.
First, I’m sorry you’re suffering. And secondly, I get it.
After competing as an NCAA athlete for the Princeton women's soccer team, I knew success and triumph. But under the surface, things were not okay. And my health slowly declined.
At my worst, I had over 90 symptoms. And the acronyms my diagnoses encompassed were staggering: MCS, MCAS, ME/CFS, CIRS and more. I was diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases. I could no longer get out of bed or be a mom. Things got so bad, I became homeless.
Then Jesus entered my life, and He took me on a journey of receiving His unconditional grace and implanting His truth on the tablet of my heart using brain rewiring tools.
MY EDUCATION
Always curious
I was the type of kid with a spirit eager to learn. In college, I wanted to become a medical doctor. But I knew my body couldn’t keep up with the rigor. Instead, I graduated from Princeton with a BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (ahem, during my atheist days). I also earned a Master’s from Yale’s School of the Environment with a goal of creating a more sustainable world.
My relationship with Jesus and His words were so integral to my healing, it became paramount that I get to know God more through His Spirit and digging further into the Bible for wisdom.
This led me to pursue additional Biblical studies, practical ministry and a deeper relationship with God at Charis Bible College in Toronto. While at Charis, the Lord confirmed my call to teach and set people free through the truth.Â
MY JESUS JOURNEYÂ
Moving mountains by faith
When your life is stripped of everything, God has an opportunity to enter. At least that’s how it happened for me.Â
Although I had tried church, read a little of the Bible and even married a Christian man, God felt so distant, He didn’t exist. Atheism seemed like the logical way to go, and I soon came to view Christians as primitive, dumb and “holier than thou.”Â
But my healing options were running out, and God was looking to move in. Alone and isolated, I began reading the Bible with a man in the desert suffering from the same illness as me. I didn’t understand what I was reading. And I still didn’t believe the words. But I was asking questions, and when your heart is even the tiniest bit open to God, questions are a great place to start.Â
Eventually, the Holy Spirit slowly softened my hard heart. I started talking to God and feeling the tiniest twinges of His warmth and love. Unsure of what it meant, I said yes to Jesus. Â
My healing and faith journeys are lovingly intertwined, growing in my relationship with Jesus as I listened to Him.
I chose that my old beliefs can’t remain if they don’t match what He says, and then I applied His truth with the tools of neuroplasticity.
Believing in God was not enough. Instead, God rooted His promises deep in my heart where He led me to exercise my faith muscle to a recovery beyond anything I could imagine.Â
I have truly been born again, made new and given a second chance at life. Now my mission is to glorify God and help others wandering in their own desert to cultivate and deepen their faith and find healing and the abundant life, too.
MY MISSION
More than a ministry. It's a calling.
Poverty exists in many forms - physical, mental, emotional, relational, spiritual, etc.
And as followers of Jesus, we're all called to the mission field to serve and relieve this poverty through the power of the Holy Spirit. For some, that means tutoring kids, mentoring abuse victims, helping out at the homeless shelter or traveling abroad to spread the love of Jesus.Â
As I lean into the Holy Spirit for guidance, God has made it abundantly clear that He's chosen me to teach and coach others to heal the way He healed me. He's asked me to go out of my comfort zone, run a business and reach others who need to hear this message: God wants you well, and it's always His love that heals.
It's my honor to come alongside people like you and teach you how to connect the dots between the safety and security found in Jesus Christ (spiritual realities) to our physical bodies. Â
